Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Pupmood ("we", "us") handles information when you use the app. We aim to collect only what is needed to run the app.

Information We Collect

Account information: when you create an account we process your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier the provider gives us and, with Sign in with Apple, optionally a private relay email rather than your real address.

Your content: the dogs you add (names, emoji or photos) and the moods, times, and optional notes you log. Photos you pick are stored to show your dog's avatar.

App settings: preferences such as whether the logging sound is on, and your owner name if you add one.

Notifications: if you turn on reminders, we store a device push token so we can deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Subscriptions: if you purchase Pupmood Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple. We (via our subscriptions provider, RevenueCat) receive whether your subscription is active — not your payment card details.

How We Use Information

We use your information to provide the core features — saving your dogs and mood history, syncing them to your account, and remembering your settings. We do not use your content for advertising.

AI-Generated Summaries

If you use the optional AI mood summary (a Pupmood Pro feature), the app sends a limited amount of information — your dog's recent mood labels, the dates they were logged, and your dog's name — to a secure cloud function that uses a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a short summary and a general care suggestion.

We do not send your notes, photos, account email, or owner name for this purpose. This information is used only to produce your summary and is not used to train the provider's models. The summary is for general informational purposes only and is not veterinary advice.

Storage and Security

Data is stored on your device and, when signed in, in our hosted database provided by Supabase. Access is restricted so that you can only read and write your own data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Sign in with Apple

If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may share a private relay email that forwards to your real address. We use it only for account-related purposes. You can manage or stop this relay in your Apple ID settings.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app — our database and hosting provider (Supabase), our subscriptions provider (RevenueCat), and the AI provider described above (OpenAI) — and only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual dogs and entries in the app at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, open Profile → Delete account in the app — this is immediate and permanent. You can also email us at support@pupmood.net for help.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
